THE CANBERRA-BUNGENDORE DAY TRAIN
Here is an ideal opportunity to take a scenic trip by vintage train and spend time enjoying the features offered in Bungendore. Travel behind a restored Diesel heritage locomotive, in historic end-platform carriages with comfortable seating and with light refreshments available on board. Your train will climb through the scenic Molonglo Gorge, pass through three tunnels and cross two major bridges before arriving at Bungendore. Enjoy 2 hours to browse the markets or shops in Bungendore. There is plenty to see - Bungendore has a great range of craft shops and cafés, and nearby picnic areas, to suit all interests.

Please note:
1. The Railmotor only carries 37 people, but it replicates the way folks used to get to Captains Flat.
2. The Railway Society reserves the right to subsitute steam if there is a mechanical problem [the loco is after all over 100!] and the 5 December steamer is always questionable because of the hire fire risk, so could run with a diesel.
