Bungendore and Braidwood receive new Town Entry Signs

Using a combination of grant and project funding, the villages and localities of Captains Flat, Majors Creek, Araluen, Bungendore and Braidwood, and surrounding regional national parks, will receive a range of new entry signs, information panels and directional tourism signs.

Funding sources for the new signage include: Kings Highway to Discovery regional tourism project , NSW Minister for Tourism, Federal Government stimulus funding, Local Council, funding awarded to Braidwood by the Heritage Office after Braidwood and Bungendore. The only ratepayer contribution is the cost of installation of the signs.

Due to the diversity of funding, it made sense to undertake the project with a cooperative approach, promoting 4 key objectives - better value for money (due to the pooled money approach); consistence in look, feel and message across the Shire; provide a feeling of unity and community pride and a consistent message to visitors; and to have one committee coordinating the entire project.

This signage project is a great working together to achieve common goals. For the full story, click on Latest Business News.
