Alcohol and Drug Service (Greater Southern Area Health Service)
Free and confidential – services include assessment, counselling, referral, information and education. Individuals, families, community groups and school communities can use this service, covering Queanbeyan and surrounding area. Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm. MERIT (Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment)
Court diversion programme -MERIT is a local court programme to divert eligible defendants with drug problems into treatment, while on bail.
Ambulance Service
In an EMERGENCY anyone may call the Ambulance and the patient will be taken to Queanbeyan Hospital. If the patient wishes to be taken to any other hospital then the request must be given by a doctor who will notify the operations centre.
Australian Breastfeeding Association
The Association is a voluntary organisation established in 1964 to encourage and support mothers who wish to breastfeed their babies and to promote skilled and loving mothering while creating community awareness of the importance of human milk. Our trained breastfeeding counsellors are experienced mothers who offer their counselling services freely to members and non-members alike. Bereaved Parents
The Compassionate Friends ACT & Queanbeyan Inc. is a self-help group for bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents following the death of a child of any age from any cause. Monthly support meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday evening of the month at the Grant Cameron Community Centre, Holder ACT. Daytime meetings are held on request. Any bereaved parents, siblings or grandparents are welcome to attend our meetings or simply phone for support or a chat. The group also produces a quarterly newsletter.

We provide support to all carers. Come for a cuppa and a chat. Occasionally there will be guest speakers. Meets 3rd Friday of the month at 1.00pm - 3.00pm at the CWA Rooms, Gibraltar Street, Bungendore.

Bungendore Outreach Programme Rehabilitation Service
BUNGENDORE OUTREACH PROGRAMME REHABILITATION SERVICE There is a Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy service available for Bungendore residents funded by the South East Division of General Practice. Services include home visiting by the Therapists for initial assessment, provision of a home exercise programme, advice regarding equipment and home modifications, fall prevention information and information regarding other community services. We also run a weekly exercise group at the Bungendore Community Centre for people whose health status prevents regular exercise. Referral to the rehabilitation service is usually via your local GP, local community nurse or by phoning directly on 6298 9312.

Provides community nursing, information, counselling and support services to address health needs for women, men, youth, children and families. These range from assistance with health problems such as giving up smoking, a mens forum, support group for parenting skills, immunisation, social work services, speech pathology services, migrant health promotion, sexual assault services, incontinence advice. There are a variety of regular clinics such as sexual health clinic, hearing clinic, women’s health clinic and baby health clinic.

Bungendore Community Aid Inc.
Medical Equipment is available for loan through BUNGENDORE COMMUNITY AID INC. - free of charge. Loaned equipment should be returned clean and in good condition as soon as possible as there are many people in the community with similar needs. For this reason B.C.A. Inc. is limiting the loan period to a maximum of four weeks. An extension of time may be arranged, however, after this time a donation would be appreciated. Because B.C.A. Inc. is a charitable organisation donations are always gratefully received, as we do need to update our equipment. Queanbeyan District Hospital and Health
Provides an integrated service and administers the Community Health Centre in Antill Street, Queanbeyan. Office hours: 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Queanbeyan Post Natal Depression Community Advisory Group
Is a community group supporting service providers and indirectly, women suffering depression. The group helps to raise awareness of PND in our community and has been actively involved with the ‘Pram Walking for Wellbeing Programme’, the Literacy Bag, supporting childcare for the therapeutic group and the GP PND surgery package. Pram Walking For Wellbeing – During NSW school terms only. Commences at Jerrabomberra Scout Hall on Mondays at 9.30am and from the Wellbeing Centre, Bungendore on Mondays at 9.30am. Each group accompanied by a Fitness Instructor and a Child & Family Health Nurse and there is no fee.
SIDS and Kids ACT
SIDS & KIDS ACT… Saving babies lives and supporting families. Providing comprehensive family and community support following the death of a child from 20 weeks pregnancy to 6 years of age – regardless of the cause. We educate the community about infant safe sleeping to help prevent SIDS and fatal sleep accidents.
